He co-founded Veritas Education and BranchOut!, providing K-12 education and BranchOut! rallies support from U.S. Congress, states, and communities. In FCPS of Virginia, he served on committees overseeing performance assessment and advanced learning. Richard's expertise in business finance and AI/ML is grounded in experience at firms like Freddie Mac and PwC.

Yupeng is a founding member of Maka.AI and leads our operations and research efforts. He has three years of experience in full-stack software development, with expertise in ML/AI, product design, and team management. He obtained his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.

Veritas Education, founded in 2010, is an education institution that provides holistic K-12 education services to students at offices in DC/MD/VA, NY/NJ, and Boston.


BranchOut!, founded in 2015, is a community service program focused on promoting STEAM education for students in underserved communities in the main metro areas such as DC/MD/VA, NY/NJ, and Boston. BranchOut! rallies support from U.S. senators, congresspersons, governors, and community leaders.


MIT Schwarzman College of Computing was established three years ago to emphasize artificial intelligence research, interdisciplinary applications of computing, and social and ethical responsibilities of computing.
